The Green Line Cyprus 1974-2001
The current exhibition at Gallery K is based on the photos by Doros Partasides taken in 1974 after the Turkish Invasion and of the Green Line that today still divides Cyprus. Artists have been invited to exhibit their works as inspirations of Doros Partasides photographs. Each artist came up with original portrayals and projections of a physical and psychological barrier otherwise known as the Greek Line. Participating Artists: Mychael Barratt, Andreas Charalambides, Christa Demetriou, Sir Terry Frost RA, Varvara Georgiou, Uri Geller, Panayiotis Kalorkotis, Andreas Karayian, George Kyriacou, Michalis, Jane Maclean, Joanna Price, Christine Watson, Apostolos Yayannos, Zoe Zenghelis. Photographs by Doros Partasides. The exhibition will be inaugurated on the 13th September by Mr. Evthivoulos G. Paraskevaides, Managing Director of Ioannou & Paraskevaides Ltd at 7:30pm. The works will be on display until the 30th September. The exhibition is sponsored by J&P, KFF and the Bank of Cyprus.
